A Filipino artist never thought a Thor fan art would land him a job at Marvel

Since childhood Filipino artist Dexter Soy has always been a super hero fan. He would make drawings and also collect trading cards, that is were it all started.
Good fortune knocked on his door as he ended up landing the biggest break on his career which is getting a job at Marvel. 



After uploading fan art illustrations of Thor and one of Marvel's major character, A local comics writer Budjette Tan discovered Dexter Soy's Thor artwork and tried sharing it on Twitter. Luckily, this gained the attention of Marvel Senior Vice President C.B. Cebulski who then asked Soy to do some illustrations and finally hire him.

Knowing that nowadays, it is much easier for people and artists to build their online portfolio and and get more exposure using the technology of the Internet.

He also advice young and aspiring artists out there to never give up and always enjoy what they are doing.
